Some of the most attractive and functional homes I have worked on have removed the bulk of the kitchen walls and entirely removed the dining room. Most Canberrans don’t realise that it is quite simple and inexpensive to remove those walls that are choking your house into some sort of maze.

Most walls in Canberra homes are not load bearing. It is often just a simple case to strip off the Gyprock, cornice/square set and skirtings, then demolish the wall frame. We then patch the ceiling and wall, square set, replace the skirting, then you can paint. Simple!
